Zhiwen Luo, Ph.D., currently serving as Director Assistant at the Institute of Sports Medicine, Huashan Hospital, Fudan University. I hold a M.D. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences and am affiliated with multiple research institutions Achieved a First-Class Honours degree in Biomedical Sciences from Queen Mary University of London. Jointly trained as a Ph.D. in Biomaterials at the National University of Singapore and in miRNA mechanisms at the Shanghai Institute for Nutrition and Health, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Currently serving as the Director Assistant at the Fudan University Institute of Sports Medicine, a research advisor to various research institutions, Expert in Exercise Prescription Development at the Education Center of the National Health Care Commission, and a certified expert for China’s National Medical Products Administration. Full Member of the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Honor Society and the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association. He has served as EIC/Associate Editor/Editorial Board Member/Young Editorial Board Member for 40 academic journals (iMeta, Exploration, Journal of Translational Medicine, etc.), reviewer for more than 60 SCI journals (Materials Today, etc.), and guest Editor-in-chief for more than 10 SCI journals (Burns & Trauma, etc.). Published over 70 papers in SCI-indexed journals (65 as first/co-first/corresponding author, total IF>500, average IF=8, highest single IF=34), received extensive media coverage and several articles were selected as cover papers; Throughout my academic career, I have consistently demonstrated my dedication and excellence through substantial achievements and contributions. With over 65 articles published as first/co-first/corresponding author in prestigious academic journals, including Cell Reports, Chem, and Small, my research has garnered significant attention, with a total impact factor exceeding 500 and an average impact factor of 8. My work has been featured on cover pages of several journals, reflecting its groundbreaking nature. I have delivered numerous invited speeches at international academic conferences, showcasing my research findings and fostering international collaborations. My academic contributions have been widely recognized, with a Google Scholar's H-index of 21, indicating the high impact of my work. Additionally, I have received numerous accolades, including the Grand Prize of the Thesis Presentation Competition of the 2nd Annual Meeting of Shanghai Maritime Sports Medicine Doctors and the First Prize of the "Dingxiang Yuan" National Science Popularization Competition. As a Full Member of the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Honor Society and the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, I actively engage with the broader academic community, striving to advance scientific knowledge and practice. Beyond my own research publications, I have actively contributed to the academic community through peer review and editorial work. I have peer-reviewed numerous manuscripts for esteemed journals(Over 500 articles), providing constructive feedback and helping to uphold the high standards of academic rigor. Furthermore, I have written several editorials for academic journals, sharing my insights on the latest trends and developments in my field. My involvement in these activities not only reflects my commitment to the academic community but also enhances my understanding of the peer-review process and the importance of scholarly exchange. My personal and professional goals revolve around making significant contributions to the fields of biomedical science and regenerative medicine. I am primarily engaged in long-term research focused on tissue engineering, stem cell therapy, and disease mechanisms. My aim is to develop innovative therapies that can improve patient outcomes and enhance our understanding of biological processes. I strive to continuously advance my knowledge and skills, collaborating with leading experts to push the boundaries of scientific discovery and translate research into clinical practice. My personal and professional goals are deeply rooted in the pursuit of advancing scientific knowledge and improving human health. I am primarily engaged in the fields of musculoskeletal regeneration, cellular biology of skeletal muscle, tendon, and ligament, as well as exercise-based interventions for health improvement. My long-term research aims to develop innovative therapeutic strategies using stem cell-based therapy and biomaterials to address complex medical challenges, such as soft tissue injuries and chronic diseases. Through continuous learning and innovation, I aspire to make significant contributions to the field of sports medicine and regenerative biology, ultimately translating my research findings into clinical practice to benefit patients worldwide. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, running, playing basketball, and practicing yoga, which help me stay active and balanced.
