I joined the faculty of the University of Toledo Medical Center in 2006, I am a tenured professor of Orthopedic Surgery, chief of Spine. I am board certified in Orthopedic Surgery, a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. I completed one year of advanced spine surgery training at the University of Washington, Harbor View Medical Center in Seattle. In 2019 completed a masters degree in business administration from the University of Toledo expanding may knowledge in management. I have been consistently involved in research that has resulted in multiple podium and poster presentations in national and international conferences. I have cooperated with the Radiology, Anesthesia, Medicine and Bioengineering Departments and we were successful in presenting and publishing several manuscripts. I have published in peer-reviewed journals a total of 79 manuscripts, 26 over the last 5 years,. I have 47 podium presentations in national and international conferences, 15 over the last 5 years. 54 poster presentations, 20 over the last 5 years, 21 invited symposium and visiting professor presentations, 6 over the last 5 years. I have been invited to write, and successfully completed, 11 book chapters. My H-index is 29. Through my publications I have been invited to act as a reviewer for multiple journals in the United States, Europe, and Asia. I have also supervised and served on the advisory council for multiple graduate students in the Masters and Ph.D. programs in biomechanical engineering at the University of Toledo. Innovation and Patent: In 2019, we have granted patent for: Bone Graft Material Mixing and Delivery Device. This facilitates the application of the bone graft in lumbar and thoracic spine fusion surgery.
