Dra. Elizabeth Ortiz SanchezChemical-Pharmaceutical Biologist graduated from UNAM. She held a postdoctoral fellowship  in Penichet´s Laboratory at The University of California, Los Angeles. She evaluated the cytotoxic effect of anti-TR-avidin fusion proteins in cancer cells. During her posdoc, she participated in several conferences that made her fall in love in cancer stem cells. After two years at UCLA, She was hired as a Research in Medical Science Researcher and  associate Professor at the National Cancerolgy Institute, in where she is working to characterize and study stem cells of uterine cervix and now in stem cells derived from gastric carcinoma as a stratification tool.
