Guo Kun, PhD, associate researcher, master's tutor. Born in Xinyang, Henan in November 1977. I graduated from Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University in May 2007 with a doctorate degree. Since July 2007, I have worked at the Liver Cancer Institute of Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University; I have finished my postdoctoral training at Beth Israel Dikon Medical Center (BIDMC), affiliated with Harvard Medical School, from 2012 to 2013. I am currently a member of the Asia-Pacific Proteomics Society, a member of the Chinese Society of Cell Biology, and a member of the China Anti-Cancer Association; meanwhile as a Shanghai science and technology database review expert and a Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC) project review expert. I have long been engaged in research on intervention strategies for liver cancer metastasis and recurrence, and research and development of liver cancer early diagnosis and metastasis-related prediction kits. I have obtained four patents with potentials to achieve clinical transformation. So far, I have participated in many major topics related to liver cancer proteomics and glycomics, including the National 973, National 863 High-tech Development Plan, National High-Tech Plan, and National Major Projects. I am also responsible for several National Natural Science Funds and Shanghai Natural Science Fund, new doctoral fund for doctoral programs of the Ministry of Education and one research project such as “Shanghai Pujiang Talent Program”. In recent years, I have published more than 15 papers in some international journals such as Br J Cancer, J Proteome Res and Int J Cancer. As a major participant, I have been awarded the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Second Prize in 2015.
