Nelson S Yee, MD, PhD, FACP, RPh is the Team Leader of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Penn State Cancer Institute. As an Attending and Consultant Physician of Medicine in Hematology-Oncology at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Dr. Yee specializes in treating patients with cancers of various digestive organs. Dr. Yee has been a principal investigator of numerous clinical trials for studying new treatment of gastrointestinal malignancies and discovering biomarkers for precision oncology. He has published original articles, reviews, case reports, commentaries, and book chapters, and he presented at research conferences in China, Hong Kong, Germany, Macao, and the United States. Dr. Yee also serves on the editorial advisory board of a number of medical and scientific journals while guest-editing thematic issues for several journals. He is an invited reviewer of grant applications by the American Cancer Society, as well as the national funding organizations in Italy, United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Belgium, and Czech.Dr. Yee received his undergraduate education with major in Pharmacy and Chemistry at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. He then pursued medical education and graduate research training at Cornell University Medical College and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. At Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, he underwent clinical training in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology. He was first appointed as an Instructor in Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, and later an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Iowa. Currently, Dr. Yee is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine.
