Dr. El-Shishtawy is a Distinguished Professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mansoura University, Mansoura 35516, Dakahlia, Egypt. He had the Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1976 and worked as a Demonstrator at Biochemistry Department in the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mansoura University, then He received the Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1981. Dr. El-Shishtawy obtained his PhD degree in 1986, and became a lecturer of Biochemistry in the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mansoura University in 1986. He had a post-doctoral Fellowship at Ophthalmology Research Department, Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, GA 30912, USA between April 1997 and July 1997. Then, He was a Visiting Professor (Supervisor for Exchange Program), at Ophthalmology Research Department, Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, GA 30912, USA between June and July 1998, and another time He was a Visiting Professor (Supervisor for Exchange Program), Georgia Regents Univerisity, Augusta, GA 30912, USA in February 2013. He was promoted to Professor in 2004. Till now, Dr. El-Shishtawy supervised 23 PhD Thesis in Mansoura, Damietta, Tanta and Kafrelsheikh Universities. He also supervised 30 Master Thesis at different universities. Dr. El-Shishtawy chair in the defense Committees and Debate for 25 PhD Thesis and 73 Master Thesis. His ongoing research interests are Hepatocellular carcinoma, liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma biomarkers, in addition to Diabetes mellitus and diabetic nephropathy. He is a member of the editorial boards and a reviewer of several scientific journals, and has published more than 67 peer-reviewed articles. Dr. El-Shishtawy served as the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mansoura University (2012 to 2013).
