Dusan Dj Popovic, MD, PhD, FEBGH, Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine, Gastroenterohepatology and Clinical Propedeutics, Research Assistant Professor, University of Belgrade, Faculty of Medicine, Deputy Director of the Clinic for Internal Medicine, Department for Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Clinic for Internal Medicine, University Hospital Center "Dr. Dragisa Misovic-Dedinje", Belgrade 11000, Serbia. In addition to professional work, I am intensively engaged in scientific and pedagogical work. I am quite dedicated to pedagogical work, which I consider a very important segment of my daily work. I am especially open to mentoring students and postgraduates in their scientific research work. Dr. Popovic has published 93 papers, of which 33 papers were published in journals from the JCR list. He was the first author in a total of 38 papers, of which 8 were from the JCR list. He is the author of a postgraduate textbook "Gastroenterological Approach to Bleeding from the Digestive Tract" and a monograph “Quality of life and chronic liver diseases”. He is the co-author of the Chapter "Enteral nutrition" in the postgraduate textbook "Anesthesiology". He gave 7 lectures at international congresses/symposia. It has been cited 224 times, h-index 9 (Google Scholar). Award of the Association of Gastroenterologists of Serbia for scientific and professional work "Prof. Dr. Obren Popović" was awarded in 2018. He is a member of the Association of Gastroenterologists of Serbia, Gastroenterological Endoscopy Association of Serbia, Serbian Medical Association, Association of Cardiologists of Serbia, European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, European Association for Gastroenterology, Endoscopy and Nutrition. Dr. Popovic has reviewed 68 papers, published three Editorials. Since 2021, Editorial Board member of the Word Journal of Radiology. In the coming period, I plan further research in the field of advanced endoscopy, ultrasound diagnostics, artificial intelligence in endoscopy, enteral and parenteral nutrition, quality of life in gastroenterology and hepatology. Also, I plan to improve the education of students, interns and residents in the field of internal medicine and gastroenterohepatology. My area of interest and expertise is relatively broad and primarily includes endoscopic diagnostics and therapy, ultrasound diagnostics, gastrointestinal bleeding, iron deficiency anemia, liver cirrhosis and its complications, emergency gastroenterology and hepatology. I have very good organizational, communication and problem-solving skills. I have 9 years of successful management experience. Namely, I was the Head of the Unit for Emergency Endoscopy and Outpatient Service (6 years) and the Head of the Department for Emergency Gastroenterology and Hepatology, University Clinical Center of Serbia in Belgrade (3 years). I was a mentor for 9 graduate theses, 3 student scientific papers and 1 postgraduate thesis at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade. I am a mentor to residents of internal medicine, emergency medicine, intensive care medicine and gastroenterohepatology. Since 2021, I have been the coordinator for the online teaching of Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade. My hobbies are motorcycles, technology, electronics, computers and reading.
