Dr. Ying-Wei Fan was born in Zhaotong city, Yunnan Province, China in August 1989. He received her Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Tsinghua University, China, in July 2018, he finished his postdoctoral research from Beijing Institute of Radiation Medicine in March 2021. and is currently an associate professor in School of Medical Technology from Beijing Institute of Technology. His research direction includes optical coherence tomography, minimally invasive theranostics, image-guided surgery, computer-assisted surgery, laser biological effects and biomedical optical instrument. His research has also been included laser-tissue biological effect, and intelligent medicine. He is the author and co-author of more than 50 articles and proceedings papers, as well as 10 patents, over 20 abstracts and numerous invited lectures. As principal investigator, his research was well funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (two projects: No. 82172112, 550,000 RMB, and No. 81901907, 200,000 RMB), the Major national science and technology projects of China (one project: No. 2021ZD0202102, 2, 000, 000 RMB), the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation (two projects: No. 2019T120982, 180,000 RMB, and No. 2018M643846, 80,000 RMB), and the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities of China (two projects: No. 2021CX11018, 300,000 RMB, and 400,000 RMB). Dr. Fan was distinguished by receiving the government award [National Scholarship, China] (2008), Second prize of excellent paper of Youth Forum of China Biomedical Engineering Conference (2019), Science and Technology Award of Chinese Society of Stereology (2021), and more than 20 awards. He was a Young Member of the 3rd Biomedical Photonics Committee, Chinese Optical Society. He was invited to review the manuscripts of more than 10 international biomedical and medical journals.
