Tian-wu Chen is a Professor of Radiology at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, China. He has obtained medical degree (MD) (Imaging Medicine and Nuclear Medicine) from Sichuan University, China. In academia, he is the Deputy Director of Radiology at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University. Prof. Tian-wu Chen's research focuses on CT and MRI diagnosis, and radiomics and artificial intelligence imaging diagnosis of major digestive system diseases, as well as the relevant molecular imaging diagnosis of these diseases. Prof. Tian-wu Chen is a pioneer in the field of quantitative and radiomics imaging diagnosis of esophageal tumors and chronic liver disease. He was the first to pioneer a quantitative imaging evaluation index system of the morphology and function for esophageal tumors and liver fibrosis / cirrhosis, and develop the relevant radiomics prediction models. Other studies mainly focus on quantitative radiologic evaluation index systems and radiomics prediction models for pancreatic diseases, hepatobiliary tumors, and gastrointestinal tumors. His research interests include CT and MRI diagnosis of major digestive system diseases. He has led a few national research grants for example three National Natural Science Foundations of China (NSFC). He has more than 120 articles indexed by SCI including more than 80 papers as first author or corresponding author in important academic journals, with a total citation of more than 3300 and an h-index of more than 30 as of Jul 2024. He has given six speeches at international academic conferences. He has won one provincial science and technology progress award as the first author. He has held membership in the North American Society of Radiology, the European Society of Radiology, and the Chinese Society of Radiology. He is a member of the editorial board of the European Journal of Radiology, and has handled the review of more than 50 papers. He has also been a member of the editorial board of the Frontiers in Oncology, and has handled the review of several papers. In addition, he is a reviewer for several SCI journals including the European Radiology, Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Academic Radiology, Clinical Radiology, etc. He has reviewed more than 50 papers. His personal and professional goals are to continue in-depth research on CT and MRI intelligent imaging diagnostic models for major digestive system diseases such as esophageal tumors and liver fibrosis / cirrhosis, as well as visualization intelligent imaging of the pathogenesis of these diseases. He will be primarily engaged in CT and MRI diagnosis of major digestive system diseases with emphasis on esophageal tumors and liver fibrosis/cirrhosis. His unique professional skills are abdominal CT and MRI diagnosis, with a focus on radiologic diagnosis of digestive system major diseases. He is good at listening to others' suggestions, actively communicates with others, and has strong interpersonal skills. He has more than 10 years of administration experience and is good at giving advice and solving practical problems from a practical perspective. His hobby is to devote himself wholeheartedly to his career, especially in scientific research. In his spare time, he also enjoys singing and walking.
