My name is Dr. Faryal Mehwish Awan, holding a PhD in Applied Biosciences, currently serving as an HEC Approved PhD Supervisor and Assistant Professor at the Department of Medical Lab Technology, The University of Haripur. I specialize in the study of circular RNAs (circRNAs) to uncover their roles in gene regulation and disease mechanisms. Driven by a passion for advancing human health, I leverage computational biology to reveal novel insights into circRNAs functions. My unique integration of bioinformatics with experimental research distinguishes me in the field, enabling innovative therapeutic approaches and pioneering contributions to understanding non-coding RNAs. A Strong academic achiever and detail oriented educational researcher having passion for continuous learning and professional development. I have a history of first class academic achievements with research record of 38 publications, 5 book chapters with an accumulative impact factor of 188.35, citations 3607 and H-index of 20. Motivated by the fast-evolving area of Theranostics, I have been working in this field since 2012 for the discovery of disease-specific biomarkers for diagnosis and therapeutics with the aim that they can be translated into clinical use providing clinicians with improved ability to diagnose, manage, and treat patients. My research is highly collaborative and I worked with genome scientists and cancer biologists on many recent projects as highlighted from publication record. In addition to my primary research, I have made significant contributions to the academic community. I currently serve as an editorial board member for three prestigious journals and have reviewed manuscripts for over eighteen W-category journals. My editorial work includes writing insightful editorials that provide context and highlight the importance of new research findings in the field. At the University of Haripur, I have developed comprehensive bioinformatics course materials for both basic and advanced levels. My commitment to bioinformatics education is driven by the immense potential I see in computational analyses for achieving high efficiency and accuracy.
