Dr. Ajith T.A, received his Master of Science in Medical Biochemistry from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore in 1996 securing First Rank at Manipal Academy and Ph.D in Medical Biochemistry from Research Centre, Amala Institute of Medical Sciences in 2004. He has been working as Professor in Biochemistry at Amala Institute of Medical Sciences, Kerala, India, since 2012. He has 126 research publications in peer-reviewed National and International journals to his credit. His Google Scholar: Scientific research output as 'h-index =37 with total number of citations 4827 (2024). The Scopus total Citations is 2698, h-index =31 (2024); Publication in Scopus indexed journals: 76 with 65 article as first author. He has been enlisted in the 2% most influential researchers since 2019 and in 2022 his name was selected in the carrier list prepared by the Medical Statistical department of Stanford University, US. He is serving as Deputy Editor of Journal of advances in health research and clinical medicine and Editorial board member of many national and international journals (30 nos). My long-term research areas are as follows: (1) Effect of compounds against the activities of mitochondrial ETC, Krebs cycle dehydrogenases during aging as well in organ toxicities induced by chemicals in animal models; (2) Anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, hypolipedemic, radiation protecting and Antidiabetic effects of compounds; (3) Amelioration of organ toxicities induced by anticancer chemotherapeutic agents using antioxidants; (4) Antimutagenic and anticarcinogenic effects of natural compounds. He is actively involved in teaching MBBS and MD students in the centre. My hobbies are reading and listening to music are his hobbies.
