Dayong SHI, Ph.D., Professor of Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences（IOCAS）. He received his B. Degree on Fermentation engineering from the Shandong Institute of Light Industry in 1999, M. Degree on Biochemistry from the Qingdao University of Science and Technology in 2002, and Ph.D. Degree on Chemistry of algae and marine drug from IOCAS in 2005. Postdoctoral fellow of Prof. Isabel Sattler was trained at the Leibniz Institute for Natural Products Research & Infection Biology-Hans Knöll Institute (Jena, Germany) from 2005 to 2006. Professor Shi is engaged in chemistry of algae and marine drug development. He is mainly interested in synthesis of novel bioactive natural compounds, investigation of secondary metabolites in marine organism, isolation and structure elucidation of natural products, as well as marine drug discovery and marine bio-products development. He is particularly interested in developing drugs for type 2 diabetes mellitus and cancer.
