Prof. Lin Wang is a surgeon and researcher who is fully trained in and performs all aspects of hepatobiliary and gastroenterological surgery, surgical oncology, and minimally invasive surgery with a focus on hepatocellular carcinoma. He is dedicated to helping patients recover both physically and psychologically. Prof. Lin Wang earned a medical undergraduate degree from Fudan University in 1992, then completed his residency at Kunming Medical University in 1997. He conducted research at Kunming Medical University and earned a Ph.D. degree in 2002. He was hired as an associate professor of surgery at Kunming Medical University in 2004. From 2004 to 2007, he was in practice as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center of Columbia University, New York, where he worked in the laboratory of Prof. I. Bernard Weinstein, a famous physician, researcher and top administrator at Columbia University. In 2009, he was appointed as a professor at Kunming Medical University. Since 2014, Prof. Lin Wang has been the vice president of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University. In 2017, an honorary title “Medical Leading Talent” was conferred on him by Yunnan Government. Prof. Lin Wang has been studying cancer cell signal transduction for more than twenty years. His contribution to this field includes the discovery of the mechanisms of tumor suppressor activity of histidine triad nucleotide-binding protein 1 (HINT1), and his studies have been published in Cancer Research, International Journal of Cancer, Cancer Letters, and other journals.
