Zhan-Min Liu is Professor in School of Life Sciences at Shanghai University. He obtained a PhD in Food Science from Nanjing Agricultural University in 2005 and subsequently held a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Department of Food Science of Shanghai Jiaotong University, working with Professor Xian-Ming Shi. As a visiting scholar, he has carried out in biosensor research at Michigan State University from Augst, 2013 to Augst, 2014, and University College Cork, Ireland from July, 2019 to Augst, 2019. His research interests cover a broad range of activities in the general area of biotechnology, biosafety, and molecular diagnosis. Primary specializations include construction and optimization of genetic strains to produce industral products in large-scales, the development of novel methods for rapid detection of pathogens and viruses in nanomaterials and DNAzyme in diagnostic applications. Zhan-Min Liu presided several the National Natural Science Foundation of China, China Postdoctoral Fund, Shanghai Natural Science Foundation, Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine subprojects and school-enterprise cooperation projects. He published many papers in Carbohydrate Polymers, RSC Advances, Analytical Methods, Journal of Virological Methods, Journal of Food Safety, Cogent Food &Agriculture. He currently sits on the Editorial Boards of Journal of Food and Drug research, Austin Journal of Nutrition and Food sciences, and the deputy Editor-in-chief of the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” national undergraduate planning Textbook for higher education.
