Dr Vandana Rai received her education from Lucknow and Allahabad Universities (B.Sc., M. Sc. and D. Phil.). Her research interest is Human Molecular Biology; her contributions on Human Molecular Genetics  are well recognized.  She is having more than eighteen years of teaching experience at post graduate level. Presently she is Dean Faculty of Science and Head Department of Biotechnology. She has been guiding post graduate (M Sc) and doctoral (Ph D.) research since 2003. She has published over 6 dozen research articles and one book. She has successfully completed five research projects funded by UGC, DST, DBT and CSIR. Dr Rai has been actively engaged in curriculum development of Biotechnology courses for postgraduate students and pharmacy courses for under graduate students. She has presented her research in number of International and national conferences and also organized more than ten conference/seminars/workshops. She is member of Editorial Board and reviewers of several Journals like- Asian journal of Medical Sciences , American Journal of Biomedical Research, Molecular Biology Reports, Genetic Testing and Molecular Biomarkers, Indian Journal of Medical Research, Meta Gene, Neuroscience Letter, PLoS  One, Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics and The Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology etc.  Dr Rai is life  member of Indian Academy of Neurosciences (IAN), Biotech Research Society of India (BRSI) and Indian Society of Human Genetics (ISHG) etc.
