Dr. Kazuhiro Takahashi graduated from the University of Tohoku, School of Medicine in 2003. After finishing surgical residency for 6 years, he entered the Graduate University of Comprehensive Sciences, University of Tsukuba in 2009. During this period, he engaged in basic research in the field of liver regeneration and transplant immunology, and he was certified as a PhD in 2013. He moved to Department of Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgery, Henry Ford Hospital in 2014. He spent two years training in transplant surgery as a fellowship. He was certified for “American Society for Transplant Surgeon Abdominal transplant fellowship” after finishing this course. He moved back to University of Tsukuba in September 2016 and started working as an assistant professor at Department of Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surgery. His current interest is in transplant and hepatobiliary surgical field for both clinical and basic research. He has over 60 publications and has been presenting his research at major international congresses in transplant and hepatobiliary fields. He received several rewards from authorized international congresses including ASTS and ELSE. He also received Grants from the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as a promising researcher.
