Tatiana L. Karonova, MD, DSc, Head of New Coronavirus Infection and Postcovid Syndrome Laboratory of World-Class Research Centre for Personalized Medicine, chief researcher at Clinical Endocrinology Laboratory, Professor of the Department of endocrinology, Almazov National Medical Research Centre. Over my career I have been studying the problems of metabolic and molecular genetic aspects of vitamin D metabolism and the influence of vitamin D deficiency on the risk of cardiovascular diseases, on bone metabolism, neuropaphy development, on COVID-19 severity. I am the author of 60 articles including ones in Nutrients, Scientific reports, Endocrine Connections and others. I have presented the study result at 50 international academic conference; the number of my citations is 3484, Scopus H-index 18, WoS H-index 10; I am the member of professional associations: EASD, ECE, Russian Association of Endocrinologists, Russian Association on Osteoporosis (honorable chairman). I have peer reviewed 37 manuscripts in Russian and 14 in English. My professional goals focus on primary hyperparathyroidism diagnostics and management, COVID-19 impact on endocrinological disorders, Post-COVID syndrome, diabetes mellitus complications, pleotropic effects of glucose-lowering drugs, including osteo- and neuroprotrction. I am a renowned endocrinologist. My active listening allows me to deeply understand the research needs, while the communication with collegues empowers them to actively participate in the studies. I build collaborative environments, encouraging open dialogue and mutual respect. As a supervisor, I inspire and guide my PhD students, fostering their professional growth through personalized mentoring; my management skills ensure efficient operations within her research lab and clinical practice. My favourite hobby is swimming, as a child I have gained a title of Master of Sports of Russia and now I continue to do this sport.
