Dr. Lian-Xi Li, MD, PhD, is a Chief Physician in the Department of Endocrinology & Metabolism at Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. As a doctoral advisor, he specializes in diabetes and thyroid disorders, with a particular focus on metabolic diseases. Throughout his career, Dr. Li has authored over 100 research articles in domestic and international journals as the first or corresponding author, with a total citation count of 1,016 and an H-index of 19. He is an active member of the Chinese Diabetes Society’s working groups on diabetic macrovascular complications and the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine’s Diabetes Prevention and Rehabilitation Committee. Additionally, he serves as the deputy leader of the Thyroid Group of the Shanghai Society of Endocrinology. Beyond research, Dr. Li is deeply involved in academic publishing. He is an editorial board member for Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, Obesity Medicine, and Chinese General Practice. He also regularly reviews manuscripts for journals such as Cardiovascular Diabetology and Obesity Research & Clinical Practice, having reviewed numerous submissions and contributed several editorials over the years. His long-term research focuses on the mechanisms underlying metabolic diseases, particularly diabetic vascular complications and obesity-related metabolic dysfunction. He has led multiple national and provincial research projects, including grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Key R&D Program, with total research funding exceeding several million RMB. Dr. Li is recognized for his leadership, mentorship, and team management skills, fostering a collaborative research environment while maintaining excellence in clinical practice. His expertise extends to patient-centered communication, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary cooperation, allowing him to make meaningful contributions to both research and clinical endocrinology. Outside of work, he enjoys music, traveling, and movies, which enrich his life and help him maintain a well-rounded and balanced lifestyle.
