Dr. Wenqian Huo is an associate professor of Occupational and Environmental Health Department at College of Public Health, Zhengzhou University. Having received her doctoral degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2017, Dr. Huo undertook her study at Zhengzhou University since 2017. Dr. Huo has devoted her research to the health effects of new emerging environmental pollutants including EDCs and POPs and the potential epigenetic mechanisms of these chemicals on metabolic diseases (eg: diabetes, hypertension, coronary heart disease, and so on) through environmental epidemiology and environmental toxicology. Dr. Huo has published 22 papers as the first author or corresponding author in academic journals focusing on environmental health and endocrine medicine. As a co-author, she has published more than 120 papers. The number of total citations and H-index as shown by Web of Science (Researcher ID: O-1974-2013) has reached 2580 times and 30, respectively. Dr. Huo has won one scientific and technological progress awards in Henan Province, China. Dr. Huo has developed or participated in several research projects to assess the impacts of environmental pollutants on human health. Through the combination of cohort studies and toxicological studies, Dr. Huo’s team aims to get the exposure profiles of environmental emerging chemicals among Chinese rural population, estimate the health effects of environmental emerging chemicals on chronic metabolic diseases, screen out the early biomarkers underlying the pathways of pollutants exposure-associated disease, and eventually for the prevention and control of the metabolic disease.
