I am Inci Kazkayası. I am an assistant proffessor in Hacettepe University, Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacology. I finished my PhD in 2016. During my PhD, my primary research goal was to understand the relationship between diabetes and Alzheimer’s Disease in order to clarify why diabetic patients are tend to have more AD. Therefore, I investigated how the diabetic conditions affect seladin-1 and insulin-degrading enzyme levels which are found decreased in AD brains. I have experience with molecular biology methods such as western blot, RT-PCR, immunohistochemistry and few in confocal microscopy methods. I have mostly worked with rodents. I also performed cell culture experiments. I performed some of my experiments of my PhD project under the supervision of Angel Cedazo-Minguez in Karolinska Institute, Sweden with a success scholarship from Turkey between 2013 and 2014. I have 15 papers. In 7 of them I am the first author. I have been in many projects as a reseracher and I recently granted as Prinicpal Investigator of a national project. Now I am working on a Alzheimer project in Torino University as a pos-doctoral researcher. This project is also about using the Insulin Degrading Enzyme as a protective mechanism against amiloid beta accumulation.
