Dr. Candis Morello is founding faculty and a Professor of Clinical Pharmacy in the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at UC San Diego. Following earning her Pharm.D. from UCSF in 1996,  she completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency with a Geriatrics Emphasis at the VA in San Diego. Dr. Morello is a Certified Diabetes Educator and practicing Clinical Pharmacist Specialist who directs a Diabetes Intense Medical Management Clinic at the VA in San Diego. Her practice and research have focused on diabetes care and clinical education.  Dr. Morello is internationally known as a diabetes clinical researcher and has authored numerous articles, book chapters, and abstracts centered-around diabetes. She has 25 years diabetes expertise as a clinical pharmacist specialist, researcher and public speaker. She direct a Diabetes Intense Medical Management Clinic at the VA in San Diego where she helps patients achieve metabolic goals through personalized clinical care and diabetes education. Dr. Morello has also presented at multiple meetings on the topic of diabetes, including or CSHP, ASHP, CPhA, and at the American Diabetes Association meeting and other international meetings. Her presentation reviews have always been excellent.
