Master's degree in Biophysics from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) and Doctorate in Physiotherapy from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCAR) with a sandwich internship at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital. Main Lines of Study: Phototherapy and Photodynamics and their applications in tissue repair in chronic diseases, especially in Diabetes. In Phototherapy, his clinical studies investigate the translationality of his experimental results. In its working groups, it seeks to implement innovative methodologies, working on the development of products and equipment for the health area. I am a full-time Adjunct Professor at the Federal University of Ceara-Brazil. I have 32 articles published as first or corresponding author. My H-index is 9 in Google Scholar. Member of the Brazilian Society of Photonics. Member of the Ethics Committee for Research Involving Human Subjects. Member of the Editorial Board of the ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species) Magazine - Cell Med Press, AIMSCI and the Family Medicine and Medical Science Research Magazine - reviewer of the journals Skin Pharmacology and Physiology, Biophysics, Photodermatolgy, Photoimmunology and Photomedicine. I am very active in translational studies, from the cell culture laboratory bench, to animal experiments and clinical studies. I am particularly interested in studies involving chronic non-communicable diseases, especially but not limited to diabetes mellitus and its comorbidities such as diabetic foot, diabetic vasculopathies and diabetic neuropathy, and the interaction of organisms affected by these diseases with light from laser photobiomodulation and diode-emitting light. I have good performance in managing groups and conflicts at work. I have a conciliatory attitude and work well under pressure. I have 20 years of teaching experience and 10 years as a researcher. My hobbies include boating and fishing, I enjoy outdoor activities, and I enjoy participating in social and humanitarian activities.
