Editorial Board
I am Sang Yeoup Lee, MD, PhD, Professor of Medical Education at Pusan National University School of Medicine and Family Medicine Clinic at Pusan National University Yangsan Hospital. I have also served as the Vice President for Medical Affairs at Pusan National University. As a dedicated medical professional, I have advanced medical education and healthcare delivery throughout my career. Since May 2024, I have served as Vice President for Medical Affairs at Pusan National University and Director of the Safety and Health Management Headquarters, emphasizing high standards in medical practice and safety. Since March 2011, I have been a Professor in the Department of Medical Education at Pusan National University School of Medicine, also serving in the Department of Family Medicine at Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital. These roles allow me to influence medical education by integrating clinical excellence with innovative teaching methods. From 2018 to 2022, I led initiatives to enhance medical education quality as Head Professor of the Department of Medical Education. My prior roles as Associate Dean of Education and Student Affairs facilitated the development and implementation of supportive policies for students. Earlier, I was Head of the Department of Medicine (2010-2014) and Head of the Family Medicine Clinic at Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital (2009-2014), ensuring that medical education is grounded in real-world clinical experiences. I have authored over 200 papers. My research interest score is 2,665, with 5,112 citations, and my h-index is 32. As a family medicine doctor, I aspire to spend my entire career as a primary care physician, dedicated to managing the lifelong health of individuals. As a medical educator, I aim to make a lasting contribution by enhancing medical school education and faculty development. In my daily practice, I strive to maintain a consistent research mindset as a physician-scientist, conducting lifelong research on areas that I observe or deem necessary. Beyond my academic roles, I have been deeply involved in external activities that enhance my influence and contributions to the medical community. Since April 2024, I have served as President of the Medical Education Society, Busan-Gyeongnam Chapter, and as a Committee Member of the Academic Committee of the Korean Association of Medical Colleges. Additionally, my involvement with professional societies such as the Pusan-Kyeongnam Association Studies for Obesity underscores my commitment to advancing medical research and education on national and regional levels. My roles as an Auditor for the YES Medical Volunteer Corps at Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital since 2016 and as Secretary General of the same organization from 2011 to 2015 demonstrate my unwavering dedication to community service and improving healthcare accessibility. These roles and my commitment to bridging the gap between academic excellence and practical healthcare solutions ensure a comprehensive approach to medical education and service, reassuring my audience about my approach. My career is dedicated to advancing medical education, enhancing healthcare delivery, and fostering innovation.
