I am an associate Professor of Chonnam National University Medical School and Hospital, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology. I am a member of the following organizations: (1) Member of IBD research group of KASID (Korea Association of Study for Intestinal Disease); (2) Member of Academic committee of KASID; and (3) Member of stent research group of KSGE (Korea Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy). I am the first author of the paper titled "Modified underwater endoscopic mucosal resection for intermediate-sized sessile colorectal polyps", for which I performed all procedures and wrote the manuscript. In addition to this work, I have authored several other papers in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy, including: (1) Comparison of Synergistic Sedation with Midazolam and Propofol Versus Midazolam and Pethidine in Colonoscopies: A Prospective, Randomized Controlled Study; (2) The Outcomes of Colorectal Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection in Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease: A Honam Association for the Study of Intestinal Disease (HASID) Multicenter Study; (3) Outcomes of Colorectal Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection According to the Size of Colorectal Neoplasm: A HASID Multicenter Study; (4) Outcomes of Colorectal Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection for Elderly Patients: A Multicenter Study by the Honam Association for the Study of Intestinal Disease (HASID); (5) Feasibility and Efficacy of Gastric Underwater Endoscopic Mucosal Resection; (6) Colon stenting as a bridge to surgery in obstructive colorectal cancer management; and (7) Risk factors for patients hospitalized with recurrent colon diverticular bleeding: a single center experience. I have peer-reviewed over 50 papers for around 10 journals, including Clinical Endoscopy, Gut and Liver, Intestinal Research, and JKMS. Currently, I serve as a guest editor for Diagnostics, actively contributing to the academic community in the field of gastrointestinal research. As an expert in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy, particularly in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), I am currently serving as the principal investigator (PI) for a national cohort study on acute severe ulcerative colitis. In addition, I am actively involved in various other research projects. I have developed a strong set of professional skills that are essential in both clinical practice and research. My active listening and communication skills allow me to effectively understand and convey complex medical information to colleagues, patients, and students. I excel in interpersonal skills, building strong professional relationships that foster teamwork and collaboration. With proven leadership skills, I guide teams toward achieving shared goals while maintaining a positive, productive environment. As a dedicated mentor, my mentoring skills help junior colleagues and students grow by offering support and guidance. My management skills enable me to efficiently oversee multiple research projects and clinical duties, ensuring organization and timely results. Additionally, I am adept at problem-solving, particularly in challenging situations where I can quickly identify issues and implement effective solutions. Together, these skills enhance my ability to contribute to advancing the fields of gastrointestinal research and patient care. In my free time, I enjoy staying active through outdoor activities like hiking and running. I also appreciate reading medical literature and exploring new research developments to stay updated in my field of expertise.
