I am Dr. Enver Zerem, I am a professor of internal medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Tuzla and a full member (academician) of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am a specialist in internal medicine in the field of gastroenterology and my scientific activities are mainly related to this field. Most of my published articles and almost all of the published articles in the Current Contents/Clinical Medicine database are the result of my many years of clinical practice and practical work in the field of interventional ultrasonography and pancreatology. The most significant achievement in this field is the fact that I am one of the initiators and founders of a new approach to the treatment of acute pancreatitis, which is of great importance for the gastroenterological profession and science and which has resulted in a significant improvement in the outcome of this serious disease. I am also the author of several articles (6 in WOS and CC), and one book on metric systems in science, the so-called scientometric systems, which relate to the valorization of scientists and the ranking of universities. I am the author of more than 200 peer-reviewed articles, reviews and book chapters. I have over 100 articles published as first author and corresponding author in representative international journals. I am a participant in numerous international scientific and professional meetings. H-index: Scholar-27; Scopus-22; WoS-20. According to the ranking, which is conducted every year (since 2018) by Stanford University and published by Elsevier, he is included in the 2% of the most important scientists in the world, ranked by the impact of citation of scientific articles. I reviewed over 100 articles in respectable international journals, 53 of which in World Journal Gastroenterology. I was a member of the editorial board of several international journals. In my free time, I play chess, go on tourist trips and do sports activities.
