Prof Marie Sinclair is a Transplant Hepatologist at the Victorian Liver Transplant Unit in Melbourne Australia and holds an academic position as Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne. Prof Sinclair is the Director of Hepatology Clinical Trials at Austin Health, Melbourne, and the Chair of the Liver Mass Service. She works as a senior Transplant Hepatologist as well as undertaking clinical research in the field of Hepatology, supervising multiple PhD students. Her research interests include sarcopenia, nutrition and obesity in cirrhosis, portal hypertension, transplant hepatology, MASLD and HCC. Prof Sinclair is first or final author on almost 40 investigator-led research articles, with >80 publications and an H-index of 19. She is a regular invited speaker to national and international meetings and regularly collaborates on multi-centre investigator-driven and pharmaceutical clinical trials. Prof Sinclair has contributed to peer reviews for Lancet Gastro Hep, Transplantation, Liver Transplantation, World Journal of Hepatology, Nutrients among others. She has acted as Guest Editor for a specialty issue of Nutrients in the field of nutrition interventions in transplantation. Prof Sinclair is committed to advancing clinical research in advanced liver disease and training the younger generation to develop clinical and research skills in this field. She continues to supervise and support young investigators, and collaborates with hepatologists around the world to advance the care of patients with liver disease. Her ground-breaking research into longterm home continuous terlipressin infusion has the potential to revolutionise the care of patients with decompensated cirrhosis. Prof Sinclair values collaboration and communication between all members of treating teams, and prioritises multi-disciplinary management plans that include all team member opinions in patient care. Her roles as senior transplant physician, director of clinical trials and chair of the Liver Mass service require her to have excellent organisation and time management skills.
