Ke-Qin Hu, MD, FAASLD, is Director of Hepatology Services and Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. He received his medical education and training in Tongji Medical University, China. He become board-certified in Internal Medicine after his residency at Huntington Memorial Hospital, Pasadena, and completed a fellowship in Hepatology at the University of Southern California Liver Unit. Dr Hu emphasizes bridging research advances to bedside patient care.  Besides active involvement in clinical trials of hepatitis B and C treatment, his clinical medical research has been focused on natural history and outcomes of liver diseases and healthcare disparity.  His basic science research has been focused on molecular virology and diagnosis of hepatitis B and C virus infection and chemoprevention of liver cancer. Dr Hu has coauthored more than 100 research papers, book chapters, and review articles, including publications in Journal of Clinical Investigation and Hepatology. He is dedicated to community outreach, public health education, and reduction of healthcare disparity. Dr Hu is the advisory board member in several local and regional health promotion organizations.
