Dr. Zhang is a Professor in Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine. As a Master's supervisor, she also holds a part-time position as a doctoral supervisor at Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine. In 2003, Dr. Zhang received her PhD degree under the mentorship of Academician Wu Xianzhong from Tianjin Medical University. From February 2008 to August 2009, she conducted postdoctoral research at the Institute for Pancreatic Diseases at Technical University of Munich in Germany. Dr. Zhang has held several prestigious positions, including the Dean of the School of Basic Medical Science, the Director of the Medical Scientific Research and Experiment Center, and the Director of the Experimental Animal Center at Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine. As a leading figure in her field, she has spearheaded the development of the integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine discipline, which has been approved as a high-level key discipline construction project by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2023. She has been awarded multiple provincial-level talent projects and also serves as the Vice Chair of the Digestive Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Pathophysiology and the Vice Chair of the Acute Pancreatitis Expert Committee of the Chinese Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine Society in Digestion. In addition, she is a peer reviewer for several journals including "Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology" and "WJG". In recent years, Dr. Zhang's research has primarily focused on the pathogenesis of pancreatic diseases and the experimental research of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine. She has led three projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and has published over 70 scientific papers, including two in the top journals of her field, "Journal of Clinical Investigation (JCI)" and "Gastroenterology". She has been awarded two provincial-level scientific and technological second prizes and has participated in the formulation of the "Chronic Pancreatitis Diagnosis and Treatment Guidelines" in 2018 and the "Consensus Opinion on Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Diagnosis and Treatment of Chronic Pancreatitis" in 2020.
