Sameh A. Lashen, MD(PhD); is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine, Hepatology and Gastroenterology division, at Faculty of Medicine, University of Alexandria since June 2020. He was graduated from Faculty of Medicine, University of Alexandria in 2005, and finished his residency program in Alexandria Main University Hospitals in 2009. Dr Lashen achieved master degree in hepatology in 2011 with the research point of his master degree was the role of conformal radiotherapy in treatment of malignant portal vein invasion by HCC. In 2015, Dr Lashen got his PhD degree and autophagy and mTOR signalling in HCV related liver disease progression was his point of interest in PhD thesis. Liver cirrhosis and its complications, viral hepatitis, non-alcoholic fatty liver, and hepatocellular cancer are the main focus of his research interest. Dr Lashen is working now on research projects involving portal hypertension and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
