Vasyl Prysyazhnyuk, MD, DSc, Professor of the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases of Bukovinian State Medical University, Chernivtsi, Ukraine. In 2007 Vasyl Prysyazhnyuk graduated Bukovinian State Medical University on the specialty "Medicine". In 2009 – 2011 he carried out PhD thesis on the topic: “Age-related peculiarities of lesions of the cardiovascular system in patients with nonviral liver cirrhosis and the ways of their correction”. In 2014-2017 studied at doctoral program and in 2018 defended a thesis to obtain the academic degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences on the topic: "Clinical-pathogenic, age and genetic aspects of chronic diffuse liver disease, comorbid processes and hypothyroidism, differentiated approaches of treatment". The area of his scientific interests includes age-dependent and genetic peculiarities of chronic diffuse liver diseases in particular nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and liver cirrhosis and optimization of their treatment, improving of the noninvasive methods of the liver diseases diagnostics, investigation of the comorbidity of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and hypothyroidism. Vasyl Prysyazhnyuk is an author and co-author of more than 100 scientific articles, monography and textbook, regularly presents results of his investigations on various European congresses, in particular International Liver Congresses and United European Gastroenterology Weeks. He is a member of European Association for the Study of the Liver and Ukrainian Society of Gastroenterology.
