Prof. Leonardo Baiocchi is involved in studies regarding the physio-pathology of the biliary epithelia, liver cirrhosis, endoscopy in liver diseases and others. His medical education began in the “La Sapienza“ University (Rome-Italy) where he completed the school of Medicine (6 years) and post-graduate school in Gastroenterology (4 years). He was a postgraduate fellow at Brigham and Women hospital (Harvard University, US), a clinical fellow at the Birmingham Liver Transplant Unit (UK) and then a visiting research assistant at Texas A&M University (TX, USA). He has a PhD in Clinical and Basic Research (University of Rome Tor Vergata). He was an Assistant Professor until July 2020 and then achieved the academic position of Associate Professor in Gastroenterology at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”(Rome-ITALY). Professor Baiocchi is now the Director of the Hepatology Unit at the same University. He serves as reviewer for several scientific journal such as Hepatology, Plos-one, Transplant International, World Journal of Gastroenterology, Digestive and Liver Disease and others. His teaching activity involves students in school of Medicine, Post-graduate student and PhD students.
