Dr Moinak Sen Sarma is an associate professor in the Dept of Pediatric Gastroenterology at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow, India. Having received his basic MBBS and MD Pediatrics degrees from Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal, India, Dr Sarma completed his postdoctoral fellowship degree and Doctorate of Medicine (DM) in Pediatric Gastroenterology from SGPGIMS, India. He worked as senior research associate from CSIR, New Delhi from 2015-17 before becoming faculty at SGPGIMS. Dr Sarma is a recipient of prestigious research awards including Young Investigator award, Best abstract awards and travel grant awards from Indian Society of Gastroenterology, American Association for Study of the Liver, Asia-Pacific Association for the Study of Liver, European Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and United European Gastroenterology. He is the recipient of Om Prakash Award for young gastroenterologist from Indian Society of Gastroenterology, SS Agarwal research award and RK Sharma awards from SGPGIMS, Lucknow. He has published papers in prestigious high impact factor journals such as Journal of Hepatology and carries an H-index (6) and G-index (10). He has multiple book chapters to his credit including Nelson's Textbook of Pediatrics. Dr Sarma has particular interests in pediatric endosonography, complications of cirrhosis, Wilson disease, metabolic liver diseases of childhood and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. He has multiple ongoing prospective funded and grant-in-aid research to his credibility.
