Having started to attend the Clinic of Internal Medicine in 2004, Dr. Francesco Tovoli has since started to become interested in the issues of liver diseases. Over the years he has gradually acquired expertise in the field of autoimmune liver disorders and hepatocellular carcinoma. Currently, Dr. Francesco Tovoli is the author of more than 50 international publications concerning different aspects of liver disease and recently received the National Scientific Abilitation for Associate Professor in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He is also acting as Principal Investigator of a project investigating epidemiology and pathogenesis of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) funded by the Italian Ministry of Health.
