V.V. Ravi kanth, completed his post graduation and doctoral studies from Department of Genetics, Osmania University, India. After completion of his PhD, he worked with Vimta labs, a CRO based in Hyderabad, in the Advanced Molecular Biology division. He was involved in successful completion of large Genome wide association studies and expression based studies on the microarray platform. He then joined a startup company (Krisani Bio Pvt Ltd) where he worked to identify genes that are dysregulated in blood of Breast cancer individuals for the purpose of developing panels for early detection of the disease. Currently he is the Group Leader of Genetics lab, where his work focuses on identifying genetic susceptibility for gastrointestinal diseases. His lab employs both microarray and Next generation sequencing platforms to identify genetic susceptibility for Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD, Chronic pancreatitis (CP) and also to identify the pathways that are dysregulated in Indian colorectal cancer.
