Dr.ssa Maria Assunta Zocco achieved her medical degree cum laude in Italy. Upon her medical degree she finished the training in Internal Medicine at the Gemelli Hospital (Rome, Italy) under the supervision of prof. Antonio Gasbarrini and acted as a research fellow at the Georg August University (G?ttingen, Germany) under the guidance of Prof. Giuliano Ramadori. In the following years she achieved a postgraduate specialization and advanced professional training courses in ultrasound and a Phd in nutrition and metabolism therapies. During her PhD and over the last years she has focused her scientific interests on the topics related to portal hypertension and particularly to ultrasound application in liver diseases. With her expertise in biomedical imaging and contrast agent research, she has published numerous SCI journal papers and book chapters, and reviewed for many academic journals. Innovative, translational and longstanding research has always been a goal in his academic career.
