Guang-Hua Luo, with a medical degree in China, obtained a PhD in 2013 at the Soochow University of China, and was nominated professor in 2014. He graduated from laboratory medicine department, Zhenjiang Medical College in 1996. After graduation, he worked for the Third Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University. Now he is the director of Comprehensive Laboratory in this hospital. He worked in University Hospital of Lund, Sweden as a visiting scientist for six months (2004.8-2005.1). Over the last 21 years, he has focused his scientific interests on the topics related to life-threatening disorders including type 2 diabetes (T2D) and coronary artery disease (CAD). Also, he engaged in the study of the relation between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) and many related diseases. He established the base-quenched probe method for detecting the genetic disorder, which can provide simple and effective diagnosis method for the clinic. During the past years, he has published more than 200 papers and 56 of them are included in SCI. He won 7 items of awards for the science and technology achievements, including 2 second and 5 first prizes of province and city Science & Technology Progress Award, respectively. Two of his inventions have got patent authorization in 2009 and 2012, respectively. Now he is mainly focusing on the molecular diagnostics in personalized medicine as well as the function and mechanism of apolipoprotein M in the regulation of chronic inflammatory diseases.
