Dr Dhiraj Tripathi is a Consultant Hepatologist at University Hospitals Birmingham, UK and Honorary Reader at the University of Birmingham, UK. He is Deputy Clinical Director of Research for University Hospitals Birmingham, UK.  He has particular interest in liver transplantation, portal hypertension and vascular liver disease. He is lead of the British Association for the Study of Liver Special Interest Group in Portal Hypertension.  He is also a member of EASL-VALDIG vascular liver disease interest group, and has ongoing international collaborations which have resulted in high impact publications. He is a faculty member of Baveno VII. As a member of the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) Liver Section, he is guidelines lead and is the lead author of the BSG guidelines on variceal bleeding in cirrhosis and TIPSS, and senior author of guidelines on liver transplantation. Dr Tripathi is Chief Investigator for the NIHR HTA funded CALIBRE trial which is currently being conducted through the Birmingham Clinical Trials Unit.  He has over 70 publications in peer review journals and book chapters (h-index 32, i10 index - 50), and is an active peer reviewer for highly regarded specialist journals such as Alimentary Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Journal of Hepatology and Hepatology. He is in the editorial board of World Journal of Gastroenterology, EMJ Hepatology, and Hepatology.
