Xiaoming Li is a full professor at the School of Biological Science and Medical Engineering in Beihang University. He got his PhD from Tsinghua University in 2006 and then went to University of Twente as a researcher. From 2007 to 2009, he worked in Hokkaido University as a JSPS postdoctoral fellow. Research focuses of Xiaoming Li mainly include biomaterials and stem cells for tissue repair and disease treatment, drug controlled release, and regenerative medicine. Especially, he has done a lot of novel interesting research on fabricating biomaterials with specific components and/or structures to control the fate of stem cells for diverse applications. As the first author or corresponding author, he has published more than 110 SCI articles in the fields of biomaterials, stem cells, tissue engineering, drug delivery, and regenerative medicine, which have been cited more than 6000 times. He was awarded by the Beijing Nova Program, the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University of China, and Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation. He has been an Editorial Board Member of Tissue Engineering journal, and an invited lead guest editor for nine special issues published in SCI journals. He has peer reviewed more than 200 manuscripts, some of which were submitted to Cell, Nature or Science. The main professional goal of Xiaoming Li is to develop out novel high-performance technology and devices of biomaterials and stem cells for clinical applications. Xiaoming Li can guide his students to design and fabricate diverse biomaterials, and do further in vitro and in vivo experiments. He has satisfactory skills, such as problem-solving skills and management skills. And, he can communicate his research results well with others in English. The main hobby of Xiaoming Li is exercising with friends.
