In 85 patients who met the criteria for small hepatocellular carcinoma, the period of recurrence-free survival was significantly shorter in patients with DCP ≥ 400 mAU/mL than in those with DCP < 400 mAU/mL (P = 0.02). More than 70% of recurrences occurred within a year (A). Overall survival was also significantly shorter in patients with DCP ≥ 400 mAU/mL (B).
