Professor Bruno Annibale was born in Roma on November 13, 1955. He got Medical Degree from University "La Sapienza" Rome in 1980 (magna cum laude). Post-graduate degree in Gastroenterology, in 1984 at the University of Rome Medical School. He got the academic appointment: 1984-1988 June Research Fellow, Dept.of Gastroenterol.University of Rome Medical School; July 1988 - March 1990 Research Assistant, Dept. Clinical Chemistry, University of Rome Medical School; 1989 April-May Laboratory Stage Dept. of Surgery, University of Goteborg Sweden; March 1990-2001 Research Assistant, Dept.of Gastroenterology University of Rome Medical School; March 2001 december 2004 Senior Investigator, Dept.of Gastroenterology University II School of Medicine; January 2005 Associate Professor of Gastroenterology, Dept.of Gastroenterology University II School of Medicine; September 2016 Full Professor of Gastroenterology; October 2016 Director of Residency Program of Gastroenterology Sapienza University Rome; February 2017 Director PhD Course on Oncology Sapienza University Rome; November 2017 Director of Gastroenteroloy and Hepatology Division University Hospital Sant’Andrea; and July 2020 Director of Department of Medical Surgical science and Translation Medicine. He got 1982 Scholarship from Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a research training of 4 months at the University of Copenhagen, Dept.Clinical Chemistry. He is member of Italian Society of Gastroenterology; Italian Association for Pancreas; American Gastroenterology Association; GRIMAD ( Italian Group for Divertcular Disease); and GISMAD ( Italian Group for GI Motility Disorder). He is Aauthor of 267 full papers, the H index is 44 (ISI). Referee for the following journals: Gut, American Journal of Gastroenterology, Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology, Digestive Liver Disease, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, European J Gastroenterol Associate Editor of World Journal of Gastroenterology. His fields of interest: Long-term consequences of H pylori gastritis including atrophic body gastritis, pernicious anemia and gastric carcinoid tumors, iron deficiency anemia and gastrointestinal tract Precancerous gastric condition (atrophic gastritis), diverticular disease, Celiac disease.
