Prof. Dr. Antonietta Gerarda Gravina, MD PhD MSc, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Precision Medicine at the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, where she teaches Gastroenterology. Her clinical practice primarily focuses on the management of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) and digestive endoscopy. Her research activity centres on IBD (both the management of advanced therapies and the exploration of new nutraceutical agents), digestive endoscopy, and H. pylori infection. She has been an investigator in several randomised controlled trials and has also received competitive funding for research projects. She has received multiple awards for her research activities. She is an Editor and reviewer for several journals with impact factors (i.e., Associate Editor for Frontiers in Medicine, sections Gastroenterology and Pathology). She has authored over 120 peer-reviewed articles. Her h-index is above 25 (sources Scopus and Web of Science). Prof. Gravina received numerous awards, including the SIED "Mosca-Santoro" Award in 2008, the "Training in the U.S.A." Award in 2011, and the award for Best Session Presentation with a travel grant for "excellent quality of the abstract" at the 20th UEG Week (2012). She has also been recognised with multiple Best Poster awards at the Italian National Gastroenterology Congress (2014, 2016, and 2024). She received the 2024 European Society for Clinical Investigation Award Best Clinical Research Article, as well as the 2022 Andrology Award and two UEG Travel Grants in 2023. Prof. Gravina has peer-reviewed more than 100 manuscripts, and has written several invited editorials in indexed journals. Prof. Gravina has been providing regular care in the field of gastroenterology, with special focus on Helicobacter pylori, inflammatory bowel diseases and digestive endoscopy for over ten years. This health care activity has been accompanied by regular university teaching and research activities, coordinating and taking part in numerous national and international research projects. The research activity focuses on these areas of gastrointestinal pathologies, encompassing pre-clinical as well as clinical sciences both in animal models and ex vivo in order to identify new therapeutic targets in these pathologies. Prof. Gravina, by virtue of her duties as research coordinator as a university professor, has over time developed several intrinsic skills including active listening skills, communication skills, interpersonal skills, leadership skills, mentoring skills, management skills, and problem-solving skills. Prof. Gravina also participates in numerous cultural initiatives in the non-medical field, several also for charitable purposes.
