After the Degree in Medicine obtained from the University of Bologna, Doctor Tosetti specialized in Gastroenterology by participating in research activities on intestinal functional disorders, in particular dyspepsia, gastroesophageal reflux disease, irritable bowel and constipation. After a period of activity as Internal Mediine Resident he begins the activity of General Practitioner at the Primary Care Department of the Health Care Agency of Bologna. Research continues in the relationship between Referral Centres and Primary Care, not only, but mostly in gastroenterology area, with particular attention to epidemiology of gastrointestianl functional disease. Member of the Italian College of General Practitioners and of the Italian Society of Gastroenterology. He edited the publication of monographs, written chapters in texts, collaborated to over 40 papers with an impact factor. He is one of the coordinators of the traineeship for the General Medicine for students of the School of Medicine of the University of Bologna, and is lecturer for the training course for General Practitioners. He is a coordinator of professional training courses and scientific research for the Primary Care at the national and local level. He is involved in meetings about health for the general population and is a member of committees for the improvement of health at the level of local government.
