Dr. Tamara Vorobjova (M.D. cum laude) at University of Tartu Estonia (1978), works as associate professor in the Department of Immunology, Institute of Biomedicine and Translational Medicine, University of Tartu, Estonia since 1979. She has two academic degrees: (PhD in 1985) and Dr. Sc.Med. (cum laude in 2001) University of Tartu. She worked as a visiting scientist and got training in immunohistochemistry in several European Universities like: Institute of Pathology in Leipzig; Institute of Clinical Immunology, Jena; Institute of Pathology, Medical Academy, Dresden; Institute of Medical Immunology, Berlin; Institute of Pathology, University of Rostock, Medical University of Lübeck, Institute of Pathology, University of G?ttingen, Germany; University of Lund, Sweden; Department of Gastroenterology and in the Institute of Pathology, University of Bern, Switzerland (1994); Institute of Pathology, University Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany (1998); in 2010 she worked in the laboratory of Experimental Diabetes Unit in San Raffaele Scientific Institute, Milan, Italy. T. Vorobjova with group of coleguages received the Estonian Government Scientific Award for the study: The occurrence of Helicobacter pylori infection in the Estonian population (1994). The main areas of research were seroepidemiology and immune response to H. pylori. Current research program and grants: Immune response in small bowel mucosa in celiac disease and type I diabetes mellitus. She reviewed for WJG since 2009, since 2007 for APMIS, J Exp and Clinical Cancer Research, Cancer Epidemiology. Have 124 publications, is lecturer of immunology at University of Tartu, since 1992.
