Dr. Khaled A Jadallah has been an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Jordan University of Science and Technology, and Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at King Abdullah University Hospital in Irbid, Jordan, since 2004. Dr. Jadallah obtained his MD degree from the University of Bologna, Italy, where he also completed his residency in Internal Medicine and training in Gastroenterology. He then completed a residency in Internal Medicine and a research fellowship in Gastroenterology at Mercy Hospital, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA, United States. His main research interests and expertise are in irritable bowel syndrome, celiac disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Jadallah is an expert in therapeutic endoscopy, including ERCP, endoscopic hemostasis, variceal band ligation, variceal glue injection, intragastric balloon insertion (for obesity treatment), dilatation of enteric strictures, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube insertion, and all types of stenting for malignant and benign strictures of the GI and biliary tracts. Dr. Jadallah is the author of several articles published in high-impact factor peer-reviewed journals, and he has also served as a reviewer for several Gastroenterology and Hepatology journals. Dr. Jadallah is an editorial board member of many Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine journals. He is an active member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and other international gastroenterological and hepatology societies. Also, he is a past vice-president of the Jordanian Society of Gastroenterology and hepatology.
