Amedeo Amedei in 1996 he graduated with full marks and honours in Biology at Florence University. He started his scientific career studying the role of Th1/Th2 lymphocytes in GVHD, atopic dermatitis and kidney rejection. After he examined the role of Helicobacter pylori-specific immune response in gastric diseases. In 2003 began his doctor’s degree in "Clinical and Sperimental Medicine". In 2005 he became researcher at Department of Experimental and Clinical Medicine (University of Florence), and in 2015 he upgrated as Associate Professor. From 2017: National Enabling Full Professor in the subject area 06 / N1 (Sciences for Health Professions and Applied Medical Technology). Recently, Professor Amedei focused his scientific interests on the cancer, studying, in detail, the anti-cancer immune response and the role of cancer microenvironment. Currently he is evaluating the immunomodulating role of microbioma and its impact in the inflammatory-associated diseases, such as cancer, autoimmune diseases and neurodegenerative disorders. For the important scientific impact of obtained data, recently, he became a member of the team of researchers involved in the world project "Halifax Project" . The great quality of his international profile is documented by scientific production: 133 peer reviewed articles (4060 Citations), 7 book chapters and one patent. Professor Amedei is serving as an editorial board member of 75 international journals and carries out activities as scientific reviewer for international research projects of private and public entities. Currently Professor Amedei was Supervisor of 45 degree thesis, one PhD, one master. Finally Professor Amedei plays hospital activities for the Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Careggi: since 2005 he is responsible, at the “SOD Skeletal-Muscle-neurologic department Unit” of Internal Medicine Interdisciplinary, the Urea test for the infection with Helicobacter Pylori.
