Oya Yucel obtained his medical degree as MD in 1985 at the Istanbul University, Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty, Istanbul, Turkey. She was trained at the Haydarpasa Numune Educate and Research Hospital, Istanbul, Turkey and obtained her PhD with a thesis entitled “ The value and importance of Gastroesophageal Reflux in etiopathogenesis in Asthma: A 24 hours esaphageal PH monitoring” . She has been working at the Sakarya University, Sakarya, Turkey and later at the Baskent University, Istanbul Hospital, Pediatric Department, Istanbul, Turkey, until now. During her academic studies, 13 international manuscripts mostly about GI disorders, Helicobacter pylori infections were published in SCI related magazines. More than fourty international citations have been taken for this articles. She attended international Helicobacter pylori congresses and presented oral presentations related Helicobacter pylori infections. She was the head of research projects at seven studies. Also some rewards from national academic society and Sakarya University board were given to her. She was the head of research projects at seven studies. She is a member of several scientific national and international societies (Turkish Pediatric Society, Turkish National Pediatric Society, European Academy of Pediatrics).Special interests are obesity, gastrointestinal diseases and asthma.
