With a medical degree in Italy, three specialties in Gastroenterology, Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery, upon his PhD in 1987 at University of Parma, Italy, Gian Luigi de'Angelis started his university career as research professor in 1980; he also worked as Attaché des Hopitaux Assistance Publique de Paris for 4 years, during which he made experience about inflammatory bowel disease, pediatric and adult endoscopy and celiac disease. He was nominated a permanent professorship as Associate Professor at the University of Parma in 2000 where he became Professor of Paediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine, Professor of Paediatrics at the Faculty of Dentistry, Professor at the Postgraduate Specialty Schools of Paediatrics, Neuropsychiatry, and Nutrition Sciences. He became Full Professor of Pediatrics in 2015 at the University of Parma. Moreover he has been Director of the Master (II level) “Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy in Paediatrics” at the University of Parma and organizator of numerous congresses both in Parma and in cooperation of many national and international scientific societies he belongs to. He is Full Professor of Gastroenterology since 2017. Over all his career he has focused his scientific interests on the topics related to Digestive Endoscopy, Paediatric endoscopy, Endoscopic Video Capsule, Eco-endoscopy, Operative Endoscopy (Balloon and Savary Dilations , Endoscopic Mucosal Resection, Deep Endoscopy, ERCP, PEG implant), Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Celiac Disease, Familial Adenomatous Polyposis, Familial polyposis, Eosinophilic Esophagitis, Reflux disease, with a production of more than 450 scientific publications.
