With a medical degree in Korea, upon his PhD in 1992 at Chonnam National University Medical School, South Korea, Young Do Jung was nominated a permanent professorship at Faculty of Medicine where he initiated a laboratory of biochemistry. Over the last 25 years, he has focused his scientific interests on the topics related to cell signaling in cancer. With his expertise in cell biology, he investigated the role of H. pylori in carcinogenesis related expression including uPAR, MCP-1, IL-8 which have been known to correlate closely with gastric cancer development and progression, trained several postgraduate students, filed several patent applications, published numerous SCI journal papers and book chapters, edited/reviewed for many academic journals, served as an active member for organizations such as American Association for Cancer Research and Korean Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Innovative, translational and longstanding research has ever been a pursuit in his academic career.
