Dr. Jun-Te Hsu is a general surgeon, specialized in gastrointestinal and pancreaticobiliary benign and malignant diseases. His clinical research interests are mainly in gastric cancer and he is also passionate in the care, research and advancement for patients with gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. His basic research is involved in exploring the mechanism of trauma-hemorrhage- or acute pancreatitis-induced visceral organ injury. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers on above-mentioned fields. He has also given grand-rounds, public presentations at medical conferences and meetings. In addition to his research, he educates the medical students, surgical residents and visiting colleagues. He has earned multiple awards from Chang Gung Memorial Hospital and Taiwan Surgical Society of Gastroenterology. Dr. Hsu graduated from China medical university of Republic of China (Taiwan) with a medical degree in 1996. After finishing 2-year military service, he received a complete 5-year surgical training in Chang Gung Memorial Hospital at Linkou medical center and promoted to be an associate professor of department of surgery in July 2011. He went on to be a postdoctoral fellow at Center for Surgical Research in university of Alabama at Birmingham, Alabama in the United States during 2006 and 2007, and to be a clinical observer at the department of esophagogastric surgery in the university of Tokyo affiliated hospital in 2012. He has been publishing more than 145 SCI papers, and was promoted as professor of Department of Surgery in 2017 July and director of General Surgery in 2019 July at Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. Now he is the member of Council of Taiwan Pancreas Society and Taiwan Neuroendocrine Tumor Society, and is also listed at the editorial board of numerous international medical journals.
