Professor David Tougeron is a full professor of gastroenterology at Poitiers University Hospital, France. His clinical interests focus on gastrointestinal cancers, in particular mismatch repair-deficient/microsatellite instability colorectal cancer.  Pr. David Tougeron has participated in more than 190 clinical trials in digestive oncology and has co-authored more than 130 articles, editorials and book chapters. After a PhD on immune response in colorectal cancer, Pr. Tougeron has completed a postdoctoral position at the Mayo Clinic, United States. Pr. David Tougeron is the coordinator of 5 academic trials, mostly on immuno-oncology in colorectal and gastric cancers (SAMCO NCT03186326, DURIGAST NCT03959293, SIRTCI NCT04659382, POCHI NCT04262687 and OESIRI NCT03719924). Dr. David Tougeron H index is 32. Pr. David Tougeron research is currently focusing on colorectal cancer, particularly colorectal cancer with microsatellite instability, immune-oncology and predictive biomarkers of response to targeted therapies and immune checkpoint inhibitors. Pr. David Tougeron presently holds professional positions in different organizations, notably the Fédération Francophone de Cancérologie Digestive as member of the Fédération Francophone de Cancérologie Digestive scientific council and Partenariat de Recherche en Oncologie DIGEstive group as head of the oesophageal/gastric Partenariat de Recherche en Oncologie DIGEstive subgroup. He is also a member of advisory council of the European Society of Digestive Oncology.
